Morgan appeared in a film on AIDS recognition and treatment, Safe Sex for Men and Women. Morgan contributed a part of her income to the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan serves as a participant of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan has spearheaded numerous other fundraisers for the disease and also appeared before a special Congressional committee on AIDS education. Morgan is on the Board of Governors of APLA as well as Amfar's Board of Directors. Former Surgeon-General C. Everett Koop has been asked to be his substitute at AIDS events and she has been the host of an AIDS Awareness Special with news anchorman Steve Bell. Ted Koppell interviewed Morgan twice for Nightline about AIDS. Morgan was nominated to win an Emmy for her performance in the Murphy Brown episode written by Diane English for her. The spring, she starred alongside Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. Her summer started by starring in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was directed by Von Zerneck/Sertner. It included Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. Morgan's next production brought her to Luxembourg for Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady that also featured Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan also played in the psychological thriller "The Leading Lady" created exclusively by USA Network. This thriller was a huge success and earned the top ratings of all time for the channel.
